The Company

Akmazo Capital is a private equity firm built by a team of accomplished technology operating executives turned investors. We roll up our sleeves alongside management teams to help build successful growing, profitable SaaS businesses. We move fast, think like owners, and back our people the same way we back our portfolio companies. We are a highly collaborative team where every voice is heard, every contribution moves the needle, and we win when everyone is focused on the same clear goals.

The Position

We seek an experienced Senior Accountant to own day-to-day fund accounting and financial operations for our private equity fund. Partnering closely with our outside accounting and fund administrator, the successful candidate will take the lead on Akmazo’s books and records, financial reporting, and portfolio company financial oversight. This is a high-visibility role for a hands-on accounting professional who wants direct exposure to fund finance and the inner workings of a private equity firm, with the opportunity to grow in scope alongside the fund.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Partnering directly with the firm’s Partners on fund-level initiatives, financial projects, and strategic accounting priorities
  • Owning the fund’s financial records, including billing, payments, and investment transactions, and driving key accounting and reporting projects for the fund
  • Driving the day-to-day accounting close process and ensuring the outside accountants have accurate, timely materials to complete the monthly, quarterly, and annual books and records
  • Overseeing accounts payable and expense administration, including travel and related expenses for the Partners
  • Building and maintaining the reporting and governance infrastructure used to track portfolio company performance
  • Preparing the firm’s annual operating budget
  • Delivering ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to the Partners on portfolio company performance
  • Overseeing payroll processing in coordination with the firm’s payroll provider, ensuring accurate and timely payment for all employees

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a private equity, financial services, or investment management environment
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience with financial reporting and standard general ledger packages
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA a plus
